You Served Others. Now It's Time to Heal. Recover with Our Freedom First Program in Florida

Speak to Someone

Who Can Help

You’ve spent your life responding when others needed help. Now, you deserve a place where you can receive that same care, structure, and support.

The Freedom First Program at Beach House Center for Recovery was created for veterans, active duty military personnel, and first responders carrying the weight of trauma, substance use, PTSD, anxiety, depression, or emotional exhaustion.

Here, healing is not about forgetting what you have been through. It is about finding a way forward with people who understand the demands of service.

Located in Juno Beach, Florida, our campus-based environment provides patients with space to step away from daily pressures, receive evidence-based care, and begin rebuilding a life rooted in recovery, resilience, and renewal.

What is the Freedom First Program?

Recovery. Resilience. Renewal.

Recovery takes the same strength and resilience that defined your service.

The Freedom First Program at Beach House Center for Recovery is a specialized treatment program designed for veterans, active duty military personnel, and first responders facing substance use disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder, trauma, and other mental health challenges.

Whether you served in combat, responded to emergencies, protected your community, or supported others through crisis, the experiences that come with service can leave lasting effects.

According to the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), approximately 11% of veterans meet the diagnostic criteria for a substance use disorder, underscoring the need for treatment programs that understand the lasting impact military service can have on mental health and recovery.

The stress, trauma, loss, and emotional burden that accumulate over time can affect relationships, careers, physical health, and overall well-being.

Freedom First was created to meet those challenges head-on.

Unlike traditional treatment programs, Freedom First combines veteran-focused clinical care with a deep understanding of military and first responder culture. Patients receive personalized treatment plans, trauma-focused therapies, and comprehensive support in an environment built around respect, accountability, and healing.

Our goal is simple: help those who have spent their lives serving others find the support they need to heal, recover, and move forward with confidence.

Built for those who answer the call

The Freedom First Program serves individuals whose careers have been defined by service, sacrifice, and responsibility.

Veterans and active military

Military service often involves experiences that differ significantly from those of the general population.

Combat exposure, repeated deployments, military sexual trauma, chronic pain, grief, loss, and the challenges of reintegration can all contribute to substance use and mental health concerns.

Our program provides specialized veteran addiction treatment in Florida for active duty military personnel and veterans seeking help for addiction, PTSD, depression, anxiety, and co-occurring disorders.

First responders

Police officers, firefighters, EMTs, dispatchers, corrections professionals, and other first responders face unique occupational stressors every day.

Repeated exposure to trauma, high-pressure situations, critical incidents, and emotional exhaustion can contribute to substance use disorders and mental health conditions.

Freedom First provides a supportive environment where first responders can address these challenges with professionals who understand the realities of service-based careers.

Our specialized first responder rehab program helps patients heal from trauma, substance use disorders, and co-occurring mental health conditions.Police officers, firefighters, EMTs, dispatchers, corrections professionals, and other first responders face unique occupational stressors every day.

Treatment that understands what you've carried

Many people who serve spend years focusing on the needs of others while putting their own well-being aside.

Freedom First offers trauma-focused care that combines mental health treatment and military substance abuse treatment designed to address the experiences that often contribute to addiction, PTSD, anxiety, depression, and other mental health concerns.

Trauma-focused, evidence-based modalities

Every treatment plan is individualized and may include a combination of evidence-based therapies and clinical services, including:

These therapies help patients process traumatic experiences, improve emotional regulation, strengthen coping skills, and develop healthier patterns that support long-term recovery.

The program also treats co-occurring conditions through comprehensive dual diagnosis treatment, recognizing that substance use and mental health disorders frequently occur together.

Many patients enter treatment seeking support for both addiction and PTSD treatment, and our clinical team is equipped to address both concerns simultaneously.

The right level of support at the right time

Recovery looks different for everyone.

Freedom First offers multiple levels of care for both mental health and substance use treatment, allowing patients to receive the support that best fits their needs.

Available levels of care within may include:

Whether a patient is seeking treatment for addiction, PTSD, depression, anxiety, trauma, or co-occurring conditions, our team develops an individualized treatment plan based on their clinical needs, goals, and circumstances.

Some patients begin with medically supervised detox or residential treatment, while others may be appropriate for PHP or IOP levels of care.

As progress is made, treatment plans can be adjusted to provide the right level of support at every stage of recovery.

Led by people who understand service

Trust matters when you’re asking for help.

One of the defining features of the Freedom First Program is its experienced and highly credentialed clinical team.

The program is overseen by a U.S. Army Veteran and a triple Board-Certified Psychiatrist specializing in Addiction Medicine, Psychiatry and Neurology, and Geriatric Psychiatry. His leadership helps ensure that treatment is clinically sound while remaining sensitive to the unique experiences of veterans and first responders.

Patients benefit from low patient-to-therapist ratios, including:

  • 8:1 for mental health services
  • 10:1 for substance use treatment

Our multidisciplinary team includes nurse practitioners, therapists, registered nurses, behavioral health technicians, case managers, and support professionals who work together to provide comprehensive care throughout treatment.

Beyond treatment, the team also assists with discharge planning, ongoing support, family involvement, and long-term recovery planning.

Rebuild strength in mind and body

Recovery is about more than managing symptoms. It is about reconnecting with the parts of yourself that may have been buried beneath years of stress, trauma, responsibility, and service.

At Beach House Center for Recovery, patients have access to wellness-focused amenities and activities designed to support both physical and emotional healing.

Our campus includes:

  • A swimming pool
  • A fully equipped fitness center
  • Pickleball and basketball courts
  • Yoga and meditation programming
  • Structured recreational activities
  • Outdoor spaces for reflection and relaxation

These experiences complement clinical treatment by helping patients reduce stress, improve physical health, build confidence, and establish healthy routines that can continue long after treatment ends.

For many veterans and first responders, recovery means learning how to feel present again. Physical activity, mindfulness practices, and structured wellness programming can help patients reconnect with themselves while building resilience for the future.

Healing is possible

Many veterans and first responders arrive at treatment feeling exhausted, disconnected, or uncertain about what comes next. Recovery can feel overwhelming when you’ve spent years carrying the weight of service on your own.

For some, Freedom First becomes the first place where they feel truly understood.

As a veteran, I carried wounds from my service that I never fully addressed. Beach House helped me find the right treatment plan and medication regimen, giving me the stability to work through my PTSD and recovery. It was the first place where I felt like I could heal both the addiction and the reasons behind it.
