At Beach House Center for Recovery, we respectfully recognize service members’ unique challenges. Our beautiful and tranquil Florida recovery campus offers a comprehensive range of therapeutic interventions to address active duty and retired service members’ needs.

According to data from the National Institute on Drug Abuse, more than one-tenth of U.S. veterans struggle with a substance use disorder. The veteran community is also disproportionately affected by factors commonly contributing to substance use disorders, including emotional trauma and physical pain from injuries sustained during their service.

Armed forces personnel on active duty may be discouraged from seeking help due to harsh policies, confidentiality concerns, and the threat of punishment. The same can apply to veterans, but when they make the decision to reach out for help, many grow discouraged at the limited access to treatment and resources available.

While veterans struggle disproportionately with substance use disorders and combat trauma, research suggests that military spouses are also vulnerable to mental health disorders. A study by the Anxiety and Depression Association of America found that many conditions common to military spouses – frequent relocation, marital separation, and spouse deployments – contribute significantly to Major Depressive Disorder.
