Beach House Recognized for Service to Community, Treatment Excellence

Florida Rehab recognized for Treatment ExcellenceLast week Beach House Center for Recovery was recognized for its dedication to serving the local community and for its commitment to treatment excellence, in a January 30 letter from the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.

“Given our current opioid overdose epidemic, we want to recognize that Palm Beach County does have quality facilities which adhere to all the treatment standards established by the American Addictions Association,” Chief Deputy Michael E. Gauger wrote. “On behalf of Sheriff Ric Bradshaw and the members of the Sheriff’s Office, I want to acknowledge your outstanding efforts to keep our communities healthy, safe and drug-free.”

Gauger went on to note that Beach House’s drug and alcohol program has “demonstrated excellence and quality in the substance abuse treatment services you provide to the residents of Palm Beach County.” He also commended Beach House staff for their “high level of expertise,” “competence,” and “professionalism.”

Florida’s Opiate Epidemic – and How Beach House Is Helping

Since last year’s declaration by Governor Rick Scott that Florida’s opiate epidemic is a state of emergency, Beach House has been working closely with other trusted treatment providers, law enforcement, first responders and members of the recovery community to address the state’s opiate crisis, through education, prevention and treatment efforts. The Sheriff’s Office applauded Beach House for its work, thanking our recovery center for “the appreciation and support shown to Palm Beach County.”

Beach House is currently taking a lead role in organizing and sending volunteers to a “Stand Up and Reach Out” event on behalf of the recovery community—as a grassroots show of support for a community-led solution to the opiate crisis. The March 10 initiative will bring together local stakeholders from the treatment and recovery community. Their goal: mobilizing more collaboration and advocacy to end this public health crisis. In December of last year, Beach House also launched a “12 Days of Giving” scholarship program that made detox and stabilization possible (free of charge) for 12 needy recipients seeking help for opiate addiction. Learn more about that initiative, and meet the two inspirational moms whom Beach House teamed up with to make it a success.
