Fayette County alone saw 35 heroin-related deaths in 2014, leading to the formation of the Lexington Urban Lexington Urban County Council’s Substance Abuse and Violence Intervention office, which coordinates with local activists, experts and recovery experts to identify more resources to prevent drug addiction and help people overcome it.
